A love story, a wood-fired oven, and a dream shared between Italy and Arizona
Re Di Roma Wood-Fired Pizza is more than just a food truck—it’s the journey of two people brought together by fate, flour, and fire.
In 2015, Kristen—an Arizona native—met Oualid Ferhati in Rome’s San Giovanni neighborhood. At the time, Oualid had been living in the city for over a decade, working as a pizzaiolo and mastering the art of Italian pizza-making. Their love grew across continents, through shared meals, long flights, and even longer conversations about tradition, culture, and of course… food.
A year later, they were married. And in January 2020, they brought their dream to life: Re Di Roma Wood-Fired Pizza—a slice of Italy on wheels, now roaming the streets of metro Phoenix.
The name is more than nostalgic—it’s personal. Re di Roma is the Roman piazza near where Oualid lived, and where he proposed to Kristen with a ring from a tiny jewelry shop just steps away. It’s the place where their story began, and the spirit they carry with them to every event.
At the heart of their mobile kitchen is a copper-tiled Valoriani oven—imported from Tuscany and built to honor tradition. From weddings and corporate gatherings to backyard parties and local festivals, Oualid and Kristen bring their passion, skill, and a little Italian magic to every event they cater.
From their handmade dough to the fresh mozzarella prepared on-site, everything they do honors the beauty and simplicity of traditional Italian cuisine—while celebrating the community they now call home.
Let Re Di Roma bring your story to the table—whether it’s your big day, a business celebration, or a night shared with friends under the stars.
